Queensland’s Granite Belt region is in SE Queensland, 3 hours from Brisbane and centred around Ballandean and Stanthorpe in a cool climate area dotted with granite boulders and forests. The predominant variety grown is Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and, more recently, Verdelho. 28 Cellar doors beckon visitors to tastings, many offering local produce platters and a la carte meals. Well-known wineries include Ballandean Estate, Boireann, Whiskey Gully and Hidden Creek.
